Hans has been with MenD from the very beginning and became a partner in 1996. He is a walking intellectual encyclopaedia; not just for his clients but also for his colleagues. Hans likes to cover all areas of law, but his greatest interest is in intellectual property law and law regarding information and communication. Consequently, he is active in the world of media and advertising. He is specialized in European law and has written about various legal topics.
In the past 10 years, Hans has developed various initiatives within Eurojuris International. For six years he was the chairman of Eurojuris Netherlands and was chairman of the Intellectual Property Group of Eurojuris International. He is also a co-founder and board member of the International Business Group of Eurojuris International, in which MenD plays a leading role. Since 2010, he has been the President of Eurojuris International.
Hans has always been a voluntary board member of countless organizations involved in welfare, childcare and culture and continues to contribute his time nowadays. He is a passionate music lover, especially of Frank Zappa and strums occasionally on a ukulele, for example. Prefers to avoid problems rather than to litigate under the motto ‘Those who can, do – those who can’t, sue’ (B. Shaw).
