In 2016 Willem joined MenD as an attorney at law with a focus on intellectual property law, IT-law, privacy and contract law.
Willem Timmers graduated from Leiden University having specialised in intellectual property law, with special attention to copyright law, and both trademark and design law.
During his studies he volunteered for several years as a legal advisor (legal aid). After his graduation he worked as a jurist in the field of intellectual property law and IT law for a large bank/insurer and later at a boutique law firm in Amsterdam. For 13 years – alongside his studies and subsequent work – Willem owned an IT-company, allowing him a unique insight into IT and privacy related issues. Besides a pragmatic approach and a passion for both intellectual property and IT, Willem has very broad interests.
